Where owner names come from
For local and company leads (Google Maps, Yelp, Trustpilot), Prospect Cheap reads the business's own website — About, Team, Contact and legal pages — and, for Yelp, the owner section of the listing. When it finds a person who runs the business, you get:
- Owner name and title
- Owner email if one is published
- Confidence — high or medium
- Evidence — the text it was based on
- Source — the website or the listing
What the levels mean
| Level | Typical evidence | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| High | "Family-owned and run by Dana Reyes since 2009." / "Meet the owner, Sam Patel" | First-name greetings, personal openers |
| Medium | The only named person on a small team page, or a founder mentioned in passing | A greeting that works either way, or check the evidence first |
Leads with no clear person have no owner — they don't get a guess.
Check in seconds
Open a lead and read the evidence line. If it says "owned and operated by…", you're good. If the person might be a manager or a former owner, use a neutral greeting.

- Owner confidence — keep high, or high and medium
- Has owner name, Has first & last name
A simple rule
Personal greeting for high. For medium, either check the evidence or write a message that's still natural if the name is wrong — "Hi Sam — or whoever looks after marketing at Reyes Plumbing…" is better than a confident mistake.
