Definition
Lead enrichment means adding information to a lead record that wasn't there when you collected it. A Google Maps listing has a name, address and phone; enrichment adds the email, the owner's name, social profiles and other details.
What gets added
- contact details: emails, direct or mobile phone numbers
- people: decision-maker name and title
- social profiles: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, TikTok
- company data: size signals, website summary, technology, category
- context: reviews, ratings, ads, launch dates, revenue
How it works
Enrichment tools look up public sources — business websites, structured data, profiles — or match against databases. Some chain many providers together ("waterfall enrichment") and take the first good answer.
Enrichment at collection vs afterwards
- Afterwards: export a list, upload it to an enrichment tool, pay per lookup.
- At collection: the lead tool enriches as it collects. Prospect Cheap does this — every Google Maps lead with a website is visited for emails, owner names, phones and socials.
Quality matters
Good enrichment shows how confident it is and where data came from. Prospect Cheap includes email status, an owner confidence score and the evidence text.

Example
Before enrichment: "Bright Smiles Dental, Plano TX, (972) 555-0100, brightsmiles.example". After enrichment: the owner Dr. Maria Lopez (Owner, high confidence), maria@ and info@ emails, a mobile number, Instagram and Facebook links, and a summary of the website's services.
Key takeaways
- Enrichment adds the details you need to contact and qualify a lead.
- Enriching at collection time saves a second tool and a second bill.
- Check confidence and sources for important fields.
