An AI agent prospecting workflow

Let an AI assistant do the repetitive parts of prospecting — searching, filtering, researching — while you keep the judgement calls.

What agents are good at

  • running searches across several sources
  • filtering and sorting hundreds of rows
  • summarising a business from its profile and website
  • drafting first lines from specific facts

What you should keep

  • choosing the niche and the offer
  • deciding who's worth contacting
  • reviewing messages before they're sent

The workflow

1. Connect real data. Give your assistant the Prospect Cheap MCP server so it searches live sources instead of guessing. See Claude or ChatGPT, Codex and Cursor.

2. Ask for a focused list. "Find 50 med spas in Miami on Yelp. Keep those with a rating of 4.5+, an email and an owner name."

3. Ask it to segment. "Group them into: many reviews, few reviews, and no website."

4. Ask for research, not invention. "For each, write one sentence on what they're known for, using only the business summary and reviews data."

5. Draft — then review. "Write a two-sentence opener for each that mentions that fact and asks one question." Read them. Delete anything generic or wrong.

6. Send through your tool. Send the list to Instantly, Smartlead, lemlist or GoHighLevel from Prospect Cheap, and paste the approved openers as a custom field.

Guardrails

  • Tell the agent to use only the data returned — no made-up facts.
  • Keep a human approval step before anything is sent.
  • Watch credits: agents can run many searches quickly. Ask it to check your balance first.

Why real data matters

An assistant without a data source will happily invent businesses and emails. Connected to live listings and website enrichment, it works from facts you can verify.

Frequently asked questions

It can prepare lists and drafts. Keep a human review before sending, and send through your outreach tool.
