Why combine
Each source has blind spots. Google Maps has the widest coverage of local businesses. Yelp is strong for restaurants and home services. Trustpilot covers companies that sell online and nationwide — installers, shops, agencies. A roofer might be on all three; a solar company might only be on Trustpilot; a new barbershop only on Maps.
Step 1: Run the same niche everywhere
| Source | How to search |
|---|---|
| Google Maps | Niche + city, country |
| Yelp | Search term + city |
| Trustpilot | Category (e.g. roofing_contractor) + country, optional city |
Step 2: Export with the same layout
Use the same export layout for each (for example Instantly or Main columns) so columns line up.
Step 3: Remove duplicates
Match in this order:
- Website domain — the most reliable key
- Phone number (digits only)
- Business name + city — for businesses without a website
Keep the row with the most data: an owner name, more emails, a rating.
Step 4: Merge the signals
A business found on several sources gives you more to say: its Google rank, Yelp rating and TrustScore together. Keep those columns side by side for personalisation.
Step 5: Send as one list
Import the merged file into your sequencer, or send each list with Send to and let your tool skip duplicates (Instantly and Smartlead can skip leads already in your workspace).
Cost
Each list costs one credit per lead found, so overlapping businesses cost a credit on each source. Start with the source that fits your niche best and add the others where coverage is thin.
